After a long summer, The Blount Truth is ready to commence its fourth year of publishing!

Here are some key things to know for this year:

  1. Deadline for all submissions is JANUARY 15, 2022

  2. As usual, we accept every creative genre without limitations. You can also submit an essay that you particularly enjoyed writing.

  3. Check out past editions of the journal under the ”Print Journal” and ”Online Journal” tabs of this website.

  4. Come say hi at our Get on Board Day Table on AUGUST 26

  5. And of course, be sure to email blountlitjournal@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns!

Who and What We Are 

The Blount Scholars Program is a selective, four-year, living and learning community at The University of Alabama that leads to a minor in Liberal Arts. Students of the Blount Scholars Program have created the Blount literary journal, The Blount Truth, to showcase young creative writers at The University of Alabama. 

Any and all students attending The University of Alabama are graciously welcome to submit to the journal.

We encourage all creative writers to apply!
