The New (School) Year!

After a long summer, The Blount Truth is ready to commence its fourth year of publishing!

Here are some key things to know for this year:

Deadline for all submissions is JANUARY 15, 2022
As usual, we accept every creative genre without limitations. You can also submit an essay that you particularly enjoyed writing.
Check out past editions of the journal under the ”Print Journal” and ”Online Journal” tabs of this website.

The 2021 Online Edition of The Blount Truth has been published!

We are so excited to announce that the new edition of the online journal is out! We are so proud of the journals we've made this year, and we hope you enjoy them. You can access a PDF of our print journal in the "Print Journal" tab at the top of this page. You can access our brand new online journal in the "Online Journal" tab.

Who and What We Are

The Blount Scholars Program is a selective, four-year, living and learning community at The University of Alabama that leads to a minor in Liberal Arts. Students of the Blount Scholars Program have created the Blount literary journal, The Blount Truth, to showcase young creative writers at The University of Alabama.

Any and all students attending The University of Alabama are graciously welcome to submit to the journal.

We encourage all creative writers to apply!
